AutoCAD support for Windows XP finishes

Microsoft has provided support for Windows XP for the past 12 years, however the time has come for everyone to move on to more recent technologies.

After April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available from Microsoft, that includes automatic updates that help protect your PC.

What will this mean to AutoCAD users? Autodesk, like many software Vendors are moving on as well so that AutodeskĀ® AutoCADĀ® 2014 will be the final version of AutoCAD software* that will run on the Windows XP operating system.

If you have a currently supported version of AutoCAD on Windows XP, Autodesk will      continue supporting your AutoCAD software through the "support life" of the product (Autodesk support is limited to the most current version and previous three versions of AutoCAD software).

Of course, this is also the compelling reason for designers to go and ask IT mangement about that super computer you have been dreaming of ! Oh and while you there, throw in an an I-pad so that you can start to utilise some of the amazing free apps that Autodesk have been developing.

If you want advice on migrating your AutoCAD to a more modern operating system, please contact Andy Hadley via this website or via www.symetri.co.uk

Happy to advise.
